Hello my name is River. I am a Certified Lead Forest School Practitioner with a deep passion for child-led, emergent learning and over 10 years of experience supporting children across a wide range of ages, abilities, and learning styles. I am honoured to be joining At Last Forest School – Lindsay as Principal. My work is grounded in a strong belief that children learn best through meaningful relationships, curiosity, and hands-on experiences in nature. The forest offers endless opportunities for children to build confidence, resilience, and problem-solving skills—whether they are climbing, exploring, engaging in bushcraft and tool use, or simply finding quiet moments of connection with the natural world. I am especially passionate about supporting neurodiverse learners and creating inclusive environments where every child feels seen, respected, and capable. At forest school, children are encouraged to follow their interests, take appropriate risks, and develop independence at their own pace, guided by attentive and responsive educators. Each day in the forest brings new discoveries, challenges, and moments of wonder. I am excited to continue growing alongside the children, families, and educators here at At Last Forest School and to support a program that values curiosity, compassion, and learning through nature.
